Is Chayanne Born to Run?<!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:OfficeDocumentSettings> <o:AllowPNG/> </o:OfficeDocumentSettings> </xml><![endif]-->
Since I could walk I had a ball at my feet for me to kick. That early discovery in my life led me to my favorite sport. Soccer. I recently graduated from Concordia, and was able to play both soccer and tennis for the University. Currently I am an Asst. Men's Soccer Coach at CUC.
Though I love playing sports, I always hated running longer than 6 miles. In fact I was afraid of takin even a simple step past that...
...so naturally I decided I would conquer my fear, and run to fundraise for our future Fitness Center here at Concordia University Chicago. Every dollar counts I always say. If you want to fund with friends for this, it would be ideal for those college students who want to help but don't have the money. Also, I accept cash in person where I would then put up on the website for you to get credit.
My uncle Tony gave me the extra push to run the Chicago Marathon because three years ago he finally reived his documentations to visit the U.S., and expand his marathon experience here. I have personally housed him and accompanied him for the past three years to those early mornings dropping him off at his corral extra early before the race began. Then I would watch him cross the finish line later on that day, and feel an extra emotion I rarely feel in my life. It's that feeling of inspiration where every ounce of my being is filled with. It tells me I can run, and that we are all born to run (Born to Run is a great inspirational book FYI).
